At Owens & Minor, we value the recruiting experience. That is why we have defined the recruiting process for you. We understand that joining a new team is exciting and stressful at the same time. By defining how our recruiting process works, we feel we can take some of the anxiety out of that experience.
Owens & Minor only accepts online resumes. When you “Apply” to an Owens & Minor job opening, you will be guided, intuitively, through an online resume submittal process. If you are submitting your resume for the first time, you will be asked to create a user profile by using your email address and a unique password that you create to identify yourself. If you are returning to apply to another position, you would simply use the same ID that you created earlier in the process.
Once you create your unique ID, you are ready to apply. By selecting “Submit Now,” you will be prompted to cut and paste a resume from your personal files or create an online resume using our “Profile Builder” tool. Both options walk you step-by-step through the process. Once you are finished, you will receive a confirmation number. This confirmation number guarantees that your resume has been accepted into our recruiting system.
What happens when your resume is submitted into our system?
This is a question that is frequently asked. When you “Submit” your resume to Owens & Minor, it is loaded into one of the most sophisticated resume management systems in the world. Your resume is identified with the requisition number of the job opening you applied to. This gives our recruiting staff and managers access to everyone who has applied to that particular position. By doing key word searches, allowing our system to scan those resumes, we are able to pinpoint the ideal applicant for that particular position. It is at this point that our recruiters can start contacting those applicants to discuss the position.
The confirmation number you receive when you submit your resume confirms that we have received it. This eliminates the need for you to call Owens & Minor to ask, "Did you receive my resume?"
One of the unique features of our system is that you are not limited to the job for which you applied. Our system allows us to query our database for anyone who has ever applied to an Owens & Minor job opening. Our recruiters can search for key words against any resume in our system allowing them to build a pipeline for a position that you may not have been aware. This allows us to be proactive in the recruiting process by allowing us to inquire if “You” would be interested in an Owens & Minor position.
