I was part of the internship program with Owens & Minor during the summer of 2005. As a Business Major at Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management, the internship was my first real taste in the supply chain industry. Not knowing what to expect I packed up the Jeep and made the 3000 mile trek to Richmond, VA. This has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made! During that summer I worked with great people. I was able to involve myself in projects large and small and in many different divisions and operations of O&M; from sales to warehouse management to consulting. The flexibility of the internship to gain experience in the entire operations of O&M and not just one department was appealing to me. It allowed me to have a good well rounded experience and eventually led me to my current position. With graduation looming Owens & Minor offered me a position with OMSolutions as a senior analyst and I jumped at the chance. One of the key players in OMSolutions is Will McGuire and through my excellent experience with him as my internship mentor I was sure I would have that same experience with the rest of the OMSolutions staff. I now work as a Project Manager implementing the Clinical Supply Solutions (CSS) service and I really do love what I do. I have the opportunity to have challenging new experiences as every hospital has unique new challenges to conquer. I enjoy working with the CSS team and have always received the support and the tools needed to make the program a success. It is a new fresh division within Owens & Minor and it has been exciting to be the OMSolutions nomad!

"O&M should be very proud that a young man like Jared has chosen to start his career with us. I doubt that we would have been able to find him if it were not for the internship program. I believe that every person who has been fortunate enough to work with Jared would agree with me that he is a true asset to O&M in every way."
