Owens & Minor University Wins Corporate University Xchange Award for Alliances: Making the Best Use of External Providers
12th Annual Awards for Excellence and Innovation Presented at Gala

Richmond, VA–Owens & Minor University was named as a winner at the 12th Annual Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation at a gala dinner May 9, 2011 at the University of Pennsylvania’s Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. The company received the Exemplary award for Excellence and Innovation in the category of Alliances: Making the Best Use of External Providers. Owens & Minor University (OMU) partnered with the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, to build a comprehensive leadership program to equip operating room nurse leaders with the knowledge and skills to effectively lead others in a clinical setting. OMU’s unique program is designed to provide coaching, mentorship, and collegial interaction as primary drivers for learning. Participation in leadership development activities is intended to develop emerging leaders who practice, train, coach, and serve as models and mentors for others.
