As a leading distributor of medical and surgical products to hospitals across the United States, Owens & Minor recognizes its critical role in the healthcare supply chain in supporting the national response to the H1N1 Influenza-A virus.

Owens & Minor has a comprehensive Pandemic Influenza Planned Response Program (“Program”) that establishes the framework and provides direction for the following:

• protecting our teammates
• maintaining business continuity 
• ensuring continued service to our customers in anticipation of a pandemic event

We have been closely monitoring the spread of the H1N1 Flu Virus and have begun diligent execution of our preparedness plans. Since early this summer, Owens & Minor’s Customer Account Representatives have been meeting with their health provider customers to identify medical product needs in preparation of a widespread epidemic. Using that information, we have been working with our supplier partners to meet the anticipated elevated product demands.

In addition, our company regularly communicates with state and federal public health agencies to stay abreast of the most current information regarding the spread of this flu virus. We remain committed in our efforts to maintain communication among our distribution centers, customers, suppliers, governments and other key partners to respond effectively and efficiently with the medical product needs during this flu pandemic.
