Since launching in 2021, The Owens & Minor Foundation has focused on bringing Owens & Minor’s Purpose, Mission and IDEAL Values to life in the communities in which we operate. In 2024, The Foundation continued to deliver on that unwavering dedication by engaging with our philanthropic partners and teammates to further contribute in the areas of healthcare, environmental sustainability and inclusion. Highlights of The Foundation’s efforts in 2024 include:

Caring for Our Communities

Building healthier communities is central to The Foundation’s mission. To support this goal, the Foundation worked with a variety of organizations to promote healthcare accessibility and belonging across the industry.

  • Continued our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). This collaboration, which began in 2022, offers crucial support to families with hospitalized children, ensuring they can remain together during critical moments to fortify their well-being and help improve health outcomes.
  • Contributed to the American Heart Association’s Richmond “Go Red for Women Campaign,” which is designed to bolster research, education and awareness initiatives around heart health within the community.
  • Partnered with Hope For The Warriors to support veterans through programs like HOPE’s Critical Needs Program, which assists financially vulnerable veterans, families and caregivers impacted by the 9/11 attacks, and their Military Veteran Peer Support Program, which offers peer support from combat-wounded veterans who foster long-term relationships with fellow veterans and their families. In 2024, the partnership was featured in an article by Repertoire Magazine: A Worthwhile Cause.
  • Supported Tech for Troops (VA), a community organization focused on equipping veterans with digital skills—empowering those who have served their country.

Promoting Environmental Stewardship

This year, The Foundation continued working with organizations at the forefront of restoring and safeguarding vital waterways, with direct participation and/or support for initiatives including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, James River Association, Friends of the Mississippi River, FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake, Los Angeles Waterkeeper and Save the Sound.

Empowering and Engaging Our Teammates

The Foundation places a strong emphasis on empowering teammates to actively participate in hands-on activities that have a direct impact on the communities where we live and work. In 2024, Owens & Minor teammates volunteered more than 200 hours at Ronald McDonald Chapter Houses across the country and dedicated 124 hours to working with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to move 30 tons of sand, helping to protect the Hampton Bay shoreline.
