The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has published extensive guidance on recommended Core Practices for Infection Prevention and Control that substantially will reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections. These core practices are applicable to all healthcare care settings and professionals and are designed to protect the patient. This webinar program will help improve infection control efforts, reduce the risks of adverse events and improve overall patient satisfaction.

The objectives of this webinar include:

  • Discuss the importance of leadership support and accountability in building a safer and more reliable healthcare delivery system
  • Review the CDC Core Infection Prevention and Control Practices for Safe Healthcare Delivery in all settings
  • Create a robust action plan to meet the evidence-based recommendations for infection control to protect staff and patients

Presenter: Dr. Hudson Garrett Jr. PhD, MSN, MPH, FNP-BC, IP-BC, CPPS, CFER, FNAP

The President and CEO of Community Health Associates, LLC, Dr. Hudson Garrett has a faculty appointment as an adjunct assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is a frequent international lecturer in the areas of infectious diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and infection prevention and control. He is board-certified in Patient Safety and Infection Prevention and Control. Dr. Garrett is also a member of OSAP/DANB Infection Control Certificate and Certification Steering Commission (ICCCSC).

Accreditation Information: Terri Goodman & Associates is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the New Mexico Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
